Seascapes & Sea Subjects

Scenes of life near the sea and the interaction between the water and clouds form the basis for this gallery. I have ideas to do a series of paintings on patterns along the foreshore: patterns made by water, clouds, sand, rock and grasses.

Lavender, Fields the Storm

Lavender, Fields the Storm

Oil on canvas. 130cm x 130cm. Unframed. This painting is one of my favourites and was an attempt to create a landscape that emphasised the patterns in nature. I intend to do more of this type. The painting won an award for me: Waverley Arts Society Artist of the Year by Public Choice 2004.

Available as a digital print or photoprint. Not available as a Canvas Print.

Gone Fishing

Gone Fishing

Oil on canvas. 30cm x 30cm. Framed. A semi genre painting with a man fishing from the pier. Reminded me a bit of my Dad. This painting was another exercise in painting the sea which is a real challenge in its various moods. I have continued to tackle painting the sea in other paintings such as "Dockland Developments", "The Dekk" and "The Studdio".

Available only as a digital print.

Gone Sailing

Gone Sailing

This painting was an exercise in painting the sea which is a real challenge in its various moods. I have continued to tackle painting the sea in other paintings such as "Dockland Developments", "The Dekk" and "The Studdio".

Seagull Watch

Seagull Watch

Oil on canvas. 30cm x 30cm. Framed. My first attempt at painting seagulls which I find endlessly amusing.

Flying High

Flying High

Oil on canvas. 30cm x 30cm. Unframed. A quick painting of some seagulls that I saw flying around. They're a great subject to paint.
